Myths and truths about treatments for the dark skin
The dark skin has many structural advantages, if compared to the light skin; however, caution is always indicated to keep the skin healthy and beautiful. There are many doubts on which esthetic procedures are effective and indicated for this phototype.
Even though is more resistant to the effects of aging and suffer less with the sunrays action, the dark skin is very sensible to stains. Those specificities may bring questioning on the choice of treatment.
According to the dermatofunctional physiotherapist and HTM consultant Thaís Rodrigues, “It is important to choose the ideal procedure for each type of skin. Radiofrequency: This technology is considered to be non-ablative, which means it is not harmful to the skin because is not invasive. The darkk skin, many times, for the high level of melanin, has tendencies to hyperchromias, hyper pigmented stains like melisma, for example. Radiofrequency devices are used with efficiency on dark skin and do not cause any adverse reactions. This is a non-invasive highly indicated to dark skin, for being an effective procedure that is not aggressive nor has restrictions.
