Frequent Questions

1. What are the physiological effects?

1) Selective Photothermolysis: obtaining a controlled thermal injury and defined by absorption of light by microscopic pigmented targets (hemoglobin, melanin, water), called chromophores. Each chromophore has affinity for a wave length.

2) Photochemical Action: after the absorption of light emitted, the Chromophore undergoes a photochemical reaction and dissipates energy in the form of heat.
The thermal damage is specific to the target tissue or Chromophore, thus preserving the adjacent tissues (Anderson and Parrish, 1993).

De Sica (2009) describes how the mechanisms are involved in the thermal injury by selective photothermolysis: – the denaturing;

– the mechanical injury resulting from rapid thermal expansion;

– Changes of stage (cavitation);

– pyrolysis (change in the basic chemical structure).

2. In what way does the Light Pulse® operate on Acne?

The emission of light generated by the Light Pulse® acts on endogenous porphyrins produced by bacteria, causing an oxidative stress and inducing apoptosis of cells affected.

3. What is Dermatochronossenescence?

Dermatochronossenescence is the set of skin changes consequent to exposure to ultraviolet rays, of Variable expression, depending on the degree of Melanization of skin, frequency and duration of sun exposure throughout life.

4. In what way does the Light Pulse® operate on Dermatocronossenescence?

The Intense Pulse Light acts mainly on the solar melanosis, actinic keratosis and poikilodermas, stimulating by thermal action, the lysis of Melanosomes, the fragmentation of the melanin, and the damage to melanocytes and keratinocytes.

5. What is telangecstasy?

The telangecstasy is known as “dilated vessels” in the face, in the majority of cases, as true telangecstasy, i.e., derived of  arteriovenous microfistules.

6. What is rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic affection of the face is characterized by erythema, edema, telangecstasy and papules. More frequent in women after the third or fourth decade of age.

7. What is the effect of Light Pulse® in stretch marks?

The selective photothermolysis induces repair to the skin, being more effective use of LIP in alba stretch marks.

8. What are the types of applicators available?

The Light Pulse is versatile, you choose which applicator to use:

– the applicator of fixed filter at 590 nm, with an area of 5cm2 allows the epilation and rejuvenation treatments, providing the treatment of large areas in a few shots and optimizing your time!

– On the other hand, the interchangeable applicator, with an area of 4cm2 has the option of 5 filters, which allows the performing of the most diverse treatments, it counts with pre-programmed protocols of:

– Epilation

– active acne and its scars

– Rejuvenation

– Removal of wrinkles

– Vascular Therapy

– removal of stains

9. Is the exchange of applicators difficult?

The connection of the applicator to the equipment is simple, a quick coupler type, i.e., in addition to the electrical contacts, the system of attachments prevents the flow of water from the cooling system of the equipment and of the applicator, and it may be removed at any time, whenever the product is turned off.

10. What is selective photothermolysis?

It is the obtaining of a controlled thermal injury and defined by absorption of light by microscopic pigmented targets (hemoglobin, melanin, water), called Chromophores. Each chromophore has affinity for a wave length.

11. How does the photochemical action happens?

After the absorption of light emitted, the Chromophore undergoes a photochemical reaction and dissipates energy in the form of heat. The thermal damage is specific to the target tissue or Chromophore, thus preserving the adjacent tissues.

12. How long will the results appear?

The results are visible in the weeks after the first session, depending on the type of alteration treated and its complexity. Important: the patient’s cooperation respecting the guidelines given by the professional is crucial.

13. In what way does the Light Pulse® operate in the removal of wrinkles?

The LIP acts causing a micro heat damage, near to the junction of dermis/epidermis, stimulating the repairing process, increasing the thickness of the epidermis and the neocolagenesis on the dermis.

14. In what way does the Light Pulse® operate in rejuvenation?

The intense Pulse Light acts mainly on the stains and telangiectasia, which are known as “dilated spider veins” on the face or body. telangiectasia (Micro vessels).

15. How does the Light Pulse® makes the epilation?

The treatment of photoepilation is based on the delivery of energy to the melanin present on the hair shaft by selectively absorbing the light, heats up and destroys by contiguity the germ structures of the hair.

16. Knowing that higher fluences guarantee best results, what is the fluency of the Light Pulse®?

The Light Pulse has the highest efficiency with fluency of 10 to 50 J/cm2, its lamp has a warranty of 1 million shots!

17. How is the cooling of the bulb from the Light Pulse® done?

The Light Pulse counts with the advanced cryocooling system which is an electronic cooling, that operates the water and Peltier plates, removing the heat from the surface of the skin and the bulb, ensuring greater efficiency, safety and comfort during its application!

18. Is the light pulse a safe equipment®?

For greater operator and customer safety, the Light Pulse has security system through a key that makes the use of the equipment impossible if not connected. And the button “master control” that turns off the equipment as soon it is activated.

19. What are the ergonomic differentials of the Light Pulse®?

With Lightweight and ergonomic applicator, the shots can be made via the pedal and/or applicator. Unique HTM Design, the cabinet has 360° rotation, facilitating mobility within the clinic.
