Frequent Questions

1. What are the indications for the treatment with the Ultrafocus?

The ULTRAFOCUS® is indicated for body treatment with reduction of measures, concentrated fat and cellulitis, ensuring the body remodeling, and for the facial treatment reduces expression lines, wrinkles and skin flaccidity, generating the effect of rejuvenation.

2. How does the ULTRAFOCUS® work?

The ULTRAFOCUS® acts by producing the mechanical effect or cavitational and the thermal effect.

3. What is the thermal effect of ULTRAFOCUS®?

Thermal Effect: The high energy intensity in the focal point raises the temperature above 56ºC, resulting in necrosis, coagulation and cellular death almost immediately within the target area, in the order of millimeters, but without damage to the surrounding tissues (skin, lymph and blood vessels, muscles and nerves).

4. How do the results in bodily applications with the ULTRAFOCUS® appear?

After the treatment with HIFU, dead cells induce a response of repair, and attract macrophages (along with other cells), where they absorb and transport lipids and cell remains away from the area of treatment.

The largest part of the adipocytes destroyed are reabsorbed within 12 weeks after the treatment and 95% are reabsorbed after 18 weeks. This results in an overall reduction in the volume of localized adiposity.

5. Does the facial treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS® increases the synthesis of collagen?

The results of the process of the cascade of repair result in the attraction of inflammatory cells, followed by the induction of fibroblasts. This way, the collagen is denatured by heat, resulting on the creation of a new collagen, followed by the tension of the skin’s septum, reducing the skin flaccidity and providing an immediate rejuvenation result

6. How many sessions are necessary? And what is the interval between them?

The effects may be observed from the very first session. To achieve best results, it is recommended a minimum of 8 sessions with 7 days intervals between each one, for body treatments, and 3 sessions with 30 days intervals between each one for facial treatments.

7. What do I feel during the treatment?

The procedure does not produce discomfort, just a feeling of heating at the focal point.

8. How long each session lasts?

On average the session lasts 30 minutes and may vary according to the area to be treated.

9. Can I keep my routine after treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS®?

Yes, the treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS® does not alter your routine, and you may return to it, immediately after the session.

10. How many applicators does the ULTRAFOCUS has?

The equipment has 2 applicators, being 1 facial applicator and 1 body applicator. Both of them have exclusive tips that allow the variation of depth of a focal point, reaching a vast spectrum of applications.

11. Is the ULTRAFOCUS® easy programming?

The Ultrafocus counts with a Touch Screen display of 8″ for configuration of the application parameters in an easy, fast and interactive way.

12. How does the ULTRAFOCUS® acts on the body treatment?

The ULTRAFOCUS® acts by producing the mechanical or cavitational effect with formation of micro air/gas bubbles inside the tissues in focal point, due to the oscillations of the ultrasound.

Therefore, the violent collapse and consequent implosion of micro bubbles occurs, breaking the plasma membrane of the adipocyte.

13. What is the result of the action of ULTRAFOCUS on the cell that stores fat?

The high power of up to 36W in focal point raises the temperature above 60ºC, resulting in necrosis, coagulation and cellular death almost immediately of the adipocyte, within the target area, but without damage to the surrounding tissues (skin, lymph and blood vessels, muscles and nerves), generating a result of reduction of measures.

14. What happens after the body treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS®?

After the treatment the dead cells induce a response of repair, and attract macrophages (along with other cells), where they absorb and transport cellular remains. The lipids are adjacent to be metabolized away from the treatment area.

This results in an overall reduction in the volume of localized adiposity.

15. Who can receive the body treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS®?

The body applicator is indicated for people with fat folds above 1cm, providing the treatment of large areas in a few shots and optimizing your time!

16. How does the facial treatment with the ULTRAFOCUS® works?

The facial applicator with power of 20W produces micro thermal lesions in precise depths on the reticular dermis, as also in the fibromuscular layer called the SMAS – Superficial Muscle Aponeurotic System.

17. What is the SMAS and what is its function?

The SMAS is in contact with the subcutaneous fat and involves the muscles of facial expression, extending superficially to connect the dermis.

Composed of collagen and elastic fibers, similar to the dermal layer, it has the property to provide the support and maintenance of the suspension of the skin, after being thermally induced, the tension of their septum occurs, generating the effect of up lifting by the consequent neocolagenesis A result that is preserved in the long term.

18. How does the ULTRAFOCUS® acts on the facial treatment?

The mechanism of action in facial treatment is essentially the heating of the dermis and subdermis areas, without lesion of the epidermis. The 3 tips reach different depths according to the indication and purpose of treatment.

19. What are the indications for the different tips used in facial treatment?

The 1.5 mm tip is indicated for the treatment of acne scars, superficial wrinkles and tissue rejuvenation. The 3.0 mm tip is indicated for the treatment of deep wrinkles and tissue rejuvenation.

The 4.5mm tip is indicated for lifting the tissue, generating deep tissue rejuvenation.

20. How does the rejuvenation of the skin happen?

The process of the cascade of repair, triggered by the use of ULTRAFOCUS with facial applicator, resulting in the attraction of inflammatory cells, followed by the induction of fibroblasts.

This way, the collagen is denatured by heat, resulting on the creation of a new collagen, followed by the tension of the skin’s septum.

Reducing the flaccidity of the skin, ensuring the immediate result of rejuvenation.

21. How long each session lasts?

On average the session lasts 30 minutes and may vary according to the area to be treated.
